Taught by people who read, write and argue for a living.
Every Red Stick tutor is a current law student. That means sharp readers, careful writers and patient explainers, matched to your student for reading, writing, ACT prep, college essays and core high school subjects.
Where law students make the biggest difference
Law school admission runs on reading comprehension, logical reasoning and writing under time pressure. Those are the skills our tutors teach best.

In 1699, French explorers found a red-painted pole on the bluff above the Mississippi.
It marked a boundary between two tribes' hunting grounds, and it gave Baton Rouge its name. We picked it because good tutoring works the same way: it marks clearly where a student is and where they're headed.
Frequently asked
Who are the tutors?
Current law students in Baton Rouge. Each one completed a four-year degree and was admitted to law school on the strength of their reading, reasoning and writing.
Where do sessions happen?
At a public library near you, in your home with an adult present, or online by video call.
Do you help with math and science?
Our focus is reading, writing, test prep and humanities. Ask in your request and we'll tell you honestly whether we have a good fit.
Will the tutor write my student's college essay?
No. Tutors coach and edit, but the ideas and the words belong to your student.
How do I pay?
We send an invoice after sessions, payable by card or bank transfer.
